My review:

A princess forced into marriage with their enemy. One-sided enemies-to-lovers. A dagger meant for a husband.

I don’t know what I expected for this book (it was the only one that didn’t come with a “tropes in the book” image), and it certainly was more exciting than I could have dreamed, even with “Poison” in the title.

Plus, PEACHES! I could practically taste every single food in the book, especially the peach cobbler, and I wanted to make the recipe at the end as soon as I finished the book (I haven't yet, but hopefully I will get around to it soon).

My only disappointment was that the book wasn’t any longer. :)

(Book blurb below)

Book blurb:

A Pinch of Poison.
A Dash of Daring.
A Fragile Alliance (and the lies that might set it on fire).

Their marriage was arranged a century ago, but she’ll do everything she can to stop it now.

Nykita spent years fighting her scheduled arranged marriage, and now that the day has finally arrived, she will take whatever measures she must to avoid binding herself to the ocean fae’s prince.

Warrick is determined to build a successful marriage with the human princess, but he did not expect to find her little kingdom on the verge of collapsing on itself.

Warrick and Nykita need to see past each others’ crisp edges and expose their own tender vulnerabilities if they hope to stop a rebellion and save the alliance between their people. It’s a good thing they have a fire chicken to help.

How will Warrick respond to life on land, reluctant rebels, and a princess who doesn’t eat sugar? What will Nykita do when she discovers she has worse enemies than the man she married? Find out in this delightful tale of magic, tension, and no-spice romantasy!

A Pint of Peaches and Poison, a wildly reimagined, reverse-gender Little Mermaid retelling, is a standalone novella, full of magic, betrayals, redemption, and delicious fruits. It is part of the Enchanting Confections series, a collection of cozy stories with no-spice romance guaranteed to delight your sweet tooth.

Content notes: The no-spice fantasy romance in this book is perfect for readers who like sweet kisses and enemies-ish-to-lovers vibes in a fairytale island rainforest setting. Expect high stakes, cozy vibes, and adult main characters. The story also includes a character with insulin-resistance and a recipe for no-sugar added peach cobbler (with variations for sugar and no-gluten added).

I received an ARC from the author, but the above review is my honest opinion.
